Further training as a Nursing Expert for non-pharmacological pain management (P.N.M.S.®)

Non-pharmacological measures are receiving increasing attention from year to year. They are regarded as an extension of the nursing repertoire in the context of pain management and complement pharmacological pain therapy in the sense of integrative medicine.

The DNQP expert standard "Pain management in acute pain care" also requires nursing staff to have up-to-date knowledge of non-pharmacological pain relief measures and their implementation. Facilities and clinics also need to make sure these measures can be implemented.

As a consequence, Klinikum Bayreuth GmbH offers further training as a Nursing Expert for non-pharmacological pain management (P.N.M.S.®). The course is aimed at nurses in hospitals, nursing homes and outpatient nursing services who have contact with patients being treated for pain. Our motivated and multi-professional team of lecturers is made up of experienced subject matter experts who work throughout Germany. They convey the content through both theoretical lessons and practical exercises and provide lots of room for intensive exchange. The knowledge acquired can help to reduce the pain patients suffer by using gentle, non-pharmacological measures. This knowledge can be integrated into pain management as part of an integrated overall concept.

On successful completion of the final exam, each participant receives a "Nursing Expert for non-pharmacological pain management (P.N.M.S.®)" certificate.
